KL University’s Aziz Nagar, Hyderabad campus recently hosted an engaging hands-on workshop titled “Build with AI using Google Cloud” in collaboration with Google Developer Groups (GDG). Organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the event offered students and faculty a great opportunity to explore the world of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.

The workshop received special support from Mr. Aarshad Devani, Senior Software Engineer & GDG Hyderabad Lead, and Mr. Siv Ram Shastri Jonnalagadda, GDG Cloud Organizer. With their guidance, participants got to dive deep into AI-driven tools, real-world data applications, and the capabilities of Google Cloud in solving modern challenges.

Students learned how to connect external data with Google Gemini using advanced frameworks like Model Context Protocol (MCP), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Intelligent Data Collection (IDC). Through interactive sessions and hands-on projects, they developed context-aware applications designed to tackle real industry problems using scalable AI solutions.

One of the key highlights was a session by Mr. Jay Thakkar, Team Lead & Product Manager, AI, who conducted a live demonstration on MCP integration and custom VM authentication for secure AI data interactions.

The collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between KLH and GDG, paving the way for ongoing technical learning, mentorship programs, and deeper integration of Google Cloud tools into student-led innovations. Such forward-looking initiatives further strengthen KLU’s position among the top universities in Vijayawada, recognized for its focus on innovation, research, and technology-driven education.
